She’s been singing and writing songs throughout her life and is part of a collective of artists called the Cageless Birds, who are based in Sophia, North Carolina. In Episode 16, we are joined by folk-rock singer-songwriter Liam Pendergrass and writer Kathy "Kas" A. Stokes.
Liam is a singer-songwriter from Salisbury, NC. He is the frontman of the regional soul/funk trio "Liam and the Nerdy Blues" and the lead guitarist for the Charlotte-based folk rock group "Swim in the Wild."
Kathy "Kas" A. Stokes is originally from Columbus, Ohio, and now resides in Archdale, NC. Kas's writing is influenced by her outgoing personality, which attracts all sorts of people, and her love of nature. Kas self-describes her life as an ever-starting drama: when one ends, another begins, which inspires the crazy situations that can be found in her writing.

In Episode 15, we are joined by singer Morgan Dortch and performer Jamilah Muhammad.
Morgan Dortch is accompanied by Kevin Garland. Morgan and Kevin have played together around Randolph County and the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Morgan is now the proud business owner of Bold Coffee Co., and Kevin is touring with the Mikele Buck band.
Jamilah is a current student at UNC School of the Arts for acting. She is a Winston-Salem native and recently interned at RhinoLeap Productions, assisting in the direction of one of their productions. Jamilah will be reading poetry excerpts from Islay Walden.

In Episode 12, we are joined by musician Kelsey Hurley and actor/performer Kayla Symone Crowder singing a cappella.
Kelsey Hurley is an Asheboro based singer/songwriter who performs all over the Triad. Here in Asheboro, she can be heard live at Lumina, The Four Saints, Brewskie’s, Lucky’s, and, of course, The Flying Pig.
Kayla Symone Crowder is from Monroe NC and is a recent graduate of NC A&T in with a BFA in performance. She was recently involved in RhinoLeap’s production of Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea. She started performing early in life in a production of the Wiz and hasn’t stopped. Kayla intends to continue her studies and career in the performing arts.

Jamie Trout is a lifelong musician who is now pursuing a career in music. She has honed her skills mostly through self-teaching, with some guidance from her father. Jamie draws inspiration from influential artists like Dolly Parton, Linda Rondstadt, and Emmylou Harris.
Larry Ingold finds inspiration in the universal experiences of everyday life. Through his writing, he reflects on the profound insights he has gleaned from the human psyche. While Larry writes captivating short stories, his true passion lies in poetry. His sonnet titled 'Mathematics' was recently accepted by the NC Bards for inclusion in an upcoming anthology.

Julie Bates, also from North Carolina, enjoys reading and writing a variety of genres. Professionally, she is known for writing mystery novels and has blogged for Killer Nashville. In this episode, we're joined by two talented guests. First up is Marquez Cassidy, whose music blends genres from gospel to funk, pop-rock to jazz, and more. Raised in a small town, Marquez's childhood was filled with performances and church meetings where he honed his skills as a singer and organ player. He credits his family, education at the Berkeley College of Music, and mentors for inspiring his unique sound.
Next, we have Micki Bare, a graduate of NC State University and accomplished children's book author. She has published several early-reader chapter books and contributed to anthologies and magazines. Today, she'll be reading from the first book in her middle-grade series, Zahra of the Uwharries. In Society of the Sentinelia, readers follow the adventure of a Sprite named Zahra, who befriends a human child as she searches for her missing family.
